Official description

Research and implement a bulk purchase and/or matching discount solar installation program for residential and commercial properties. This program should not be a one-time offering but annually or bi-annually depending on staff capacity.

The Town launched Solarize Superior, a solar bulk purchase program, in 2022. 57 kW of solar plus 20 kW of battery backup was installed by residents through this program. In 2023, the Town partnered with Boulder County on the Boulder County Solar Co-op, which offered the same bulk purchasing model through a county-wide cooperative. 437 Boulder County residents participated, with a MEGAWATT of solar installed across the co-op. In 2024, the Town partnered again with the County on a similar program called Solar Switch.
