Official description

Ensure all residents with curbside waste hauling have access to recycling and composting. Consolidate the requirements of waste hauling contracts across the community by working with the HOAs and implement a Pay As You Throw (PAYT) model where the customer pays for landfill waste capacity and recycling and compost is included in service.

The Town waste contract is set to expire at the end of 2024, and the Town is currently engaged in a community engagement process with residents about the future Town contract. There are also opportunities to engage with HOA leadership as part of the process. Mid-year, the Advisory Committee for Environmental Sustainability (ACES) will make recommendations for the new Town waste contract scope and improvements based on that feedback, including the possibility to include composting for everyone and a Pay As You Throw model.
